The Club's annual Business Women of the Year Awards attracts one of the most impressive line-up of local and national sponsors who have been instrumental in helping to grow the awareness and popularity of the awards over recent years. On the second Tuesday of every month (from February each year), The Cairns Business Women's Club organises a lunch event, which attracts over 200 business people each month. These events are tangible networking opportunities which are diarised in advance for many in the business community.
Held at different locations each month, the lunches allow members time to meet and interact with other guests, display their company literature on a special networking table, contribute to the Club's fund raising activities and win great prizes in the monthly raffle.
The two course meal also includes a brief message from the president and a two minute presentation from a member promoting her business. However, the main event, and the reason why most people attend the lunch, is the key note speech from a special guest speaker.
The Club has enjoyed presentations from a huge variety of men and women over the years, some local and some from interstate whose travel expenses have been covered by one of the Club's lunch speaker sponsors.
