The Cairns Business Women’s Club Inc is committed to protecting the privacy of its members and visitors to its website. This Privacy Policy demonstrates our commitment by disclosing to you the ways in which we deal with your personal information.
What information we collect from members
The personal information that we collect from our members and hold, includes:
- Full name
- Business name
- Postal address (work, home or PO Box as provided by the member)
- Telephone numbers (home, work, fax and/or mobile as provided by the member)
- E-mail address
- Business type
- How a member would like to receive their newsletter
- Credit card details (collected for individual event pre-payments, but not retained)
If you do not wish to provide the information which we request, we may not be able to provide the level of service expected by you as a member, or process any credit application that you have submitted to us for approval.
Use and Disclosure of your Personal Information
Your personal information (with the exception of your credit card details) may be used:
- To advise you by email of monthly club functions, annual awards and other club events or announcements.
- To provide you with an electronic or hard copy version of the Club’s monthly newsletter, as nominated by you.
- For networking purposes by adding you to our membership database to receive promotional, educational and other networking material from other members.
- To research and develop the Club’s services and functions.
- To recover any outstanding debts owed by you to the Club (ie payments for functions)
If you do not wish to receive networking or promotional material from the Club or fellow members, please telephone Melanie Wicks on (07) 4040 6555 and we will delete you from our mailing list immediately. Alternatively, you can send your request in writing to us at Cairns Business Women’s Club Inc, PO Box 7057, Cairns, Qld 4870. Please note that the Cairns Business Women’s Club does not sell its membership list to any third parties.
The people/organisations to which we disclose your personal information include:
- Our database manager
- Our electronic newsletter publisher/editor
- Other members wishing to use the membership database for networking or promotional activities.
Access to your Personal Information

If we no longer need to hold your personal information, we will take reasonable steps to destroy or permanently de-identify that information.

From time to time, it may become necessary for us to review or amend this policy, and we reserve the right to do so. Emails
Cairns Business Women’s Club encourages the use of email communication to increase efficiency in communications.
Email addresses are supplied to other club members for networking purposes; however if you are included on a group email mailing list for this purpose, you will be sent the information in such a way that your email address will not be visible to other mailout recipients.
