Lauren Hull
Hi! I'm Lauren Hull, Business Development Manager for Queensland Country Health Fund.
After being with Jardine Lloyd Thompson as an Insurance Broker for the last 8+years, serving a diverse range of business I recently decided on a career change. After the turbulent aftermath of two cyclones in the last five years, I felt the need for a change of vocation. As destiny would have, I still remain involved in the Insurance industry, presenting myself with a new challenge by entering into Private Health Insurance. Working with Queensland's only regionally based health insurer, Queensland Country Health Fund, my primary role is to develop Queensland Country Health Fund's corporate strategy, I now work to identify employers Queensland-wide wishing to reward their staff with the exclusive benefits of a Corporate Health Plan.
Queensland Country Health is a not-for-profit health insurer based in Townsville. Members are rewarded with an exceptional value, simple to understand product range which is supported by good old fashioned service ethics. This makes for loyal and satisfied Members, flowing through to a terrific family atmosphere within the workplace. It has been a refreshing change, certainly presenting its challenges though. I have discovered that Private Health Insurance does have it's complexities and that many people today really do not understand or know exactly what cover they have in place, or the real life implications of not having health cover. It's certainly a whole new ball game, but I am loving the challenge it brings.
Queensland Country Health Fund covers more than 35,000 people across Queensland and is often the first choice for health insurance for people living in Regional Queensland. The Health Fund has four retail service centres in Townsville (Head Office), Ayr, Mackay and Mount Isa offering Australia-wide cover to it's Members.
Originally from Townsville, I moved to Cairns nine years ago to start a family with my husband and three children later I now call Cairns home, though I do sit on the fence between Cairns and Townsville rivalry….ha ha. I also enjoy having a hit of tennis where I can and I've discovered that tennis can be a dynamic family activity which brings a lot of fun. Throughout raising my family, I stayed in the workforce full-time and also gained my Diploma of Financial Services (Insurance Broking), progressing on to become a fully Qualified Practicing Insurance Broker. As an active member of the Cairns Business Women's Club I regularly attend events and my highlight has been joining the Board a year ago. Being a Member on the CBWC Board has been a great way to become more involved in the Cairns community while also strengthening friendships and business networks. Not only is it rewarding, but it's fun!
If you want to “demystify” your own private health insurance cover or if you are an employer wanting to offer your staff an exceptional employee benefit through a Corporate Health Plan, then please feel free to contact me or 0417 622 856.
